Andy Bell

Andy Bell

Bachelor of Science (BSc)

Burnside High School

Andy is from a musical family. His mum is a music teacher at Chisnallwood Intermediate School and his brother runs a Christchurch studio called Orange Studio. As a young kid, Andy played a lot of instruments but it was drums and percussion that he enjoyed most and he's been learning them for just over 10 years now.

Andy comes to Waikato after having just finished a Bachelor of Music at Canterbury University. He's appeared as a soloist with the New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra in 2013 playing a percussion concerto, he's performed with Placido Domingo, and has played for Colin Currie as part of a Master Class in Wellington.

The former Burnside High School student hopes to pursue his passion in percussion while developing a career in Computer Science.
